Elegant Gershwin Kit Stand Setup

James T. Chang, Visiting Director at Carleton Orchestra graciously sent these photos and description of his Gershwin horn stand setup, along with permission to share them.

Pieces of PVC…
The stands are just generic mic stands.  Each stand has two clamps – a gobo holder clamp (circular one) and a cardellini clamp (vice type one).

Note that he’s separated them in to two sets of 2 horns. Very interesting!
About that he said…

Here is the solution we have devised so far. The fact that the parts have the taxi horns on two separate players clues to me that there is meant to be an antiphonal effect, which makes sense given that they’re supposed to be taxi horns everywhere, which is why I asked for it to be mounted on two different stands.

We love squeeze horns! Especially the brass honkers we import from India! A labor of love. Happy Honking!
